After a very short try out period, that in the end lasted only one day, Budivelnyk Kiev officially announced the signing of Daequan Cook until the end of the season. The 26 years old shooting guard will have the chance to resurrect his career in Europe, playing in Euroleague after playing in the NBA Finals in 2012 as a member of OKC. As it was expected Cook took the roster spot of Micah Downs who was cut by the team.
However the more interesting news of the day come from coaches. As Sport.ru reported, Lokomotiv Kuban’s Evgeni Pashutin is expected to be announced this week as the new head coach of the Russian national team. Pashutin was offered the job last summer after the resignation of coach Fotis Katsikaris, however he decided back then to not take it due to the limited time left until the Eurobasket.
Also, Slovenian Jure Zdovc, the main candidate for his country’s national team, will also coach Gaziantep until the summer of 2015 as it was announced by the Turkish team.
