As it was reported by many French media on Saturday, Ali Traore has the option to leave JSF Nanterre before Euroleague’s Top16. With the team being on the verge of missing the qualification many assumed that the experienced center will be leaving, if the defending French champions don’t get through to the second phase of the competition.
According to sources close to the situation, things are a little bit different. No matter what happens with the Top16 qualification, Ali Traore is expected to leave the team. There is a clause in his contract permitting him to do so and it will be a mutual divorce with the decision being based mainly on the financial part of Traore’s contract and the limited resources of Nanterre.
It’s still unclear where Traore will continue his career, after proving in the Euroleague regular season that he is back to his usual self after his last season injury woes.
