Until the start of the fourth quarter Unics Kazan hang into the game. The score was 53-51 for CSKA Moscow and nothing was decided yet. That was when everything changed. With a 8-2 run the “army team” had a double digit lead (62-52) after a three point from Ramunas Siskauskas and the game was practically over.
Without a stellar performance the players of coach Jonas Kazlauskas won the mach by 12 points (74-62) and of course the VTB Championship title. The two Lithuanians of CSKA, Siskauskas and Darius Lavrinovic, playing in their country were the top scorers of the winners with 12 and 15 points respectively. Victor Kryapa missed the VTB Final, but he will recover from his injury in time for the Euroleague Final Four next week.
In the consolation 3rd place game VTB Final Four host Lietuvos Rytas beat Lokomotiv Kuban 91-83 with Toronto Raptors pick Jonas Valanciunas scoring 15 points.
