As it was expected, Olympiacos made a move in the market in order to fill the void in the back court after Acie Law’s injury. The chosen one was 29 years old Mardy Collins, a former NBA player who started the season in Montegranaro.
He was the number 29 pick in the 2006 draft by the New York Knicks, where he played for two season, then he moved to the Clippers and since then he had played in China, Puerto Rico, NBADL, Israel and Italy. Collins should be considered, however, a temporary solution for the team’s rotation until the return of Acie Law which can be expected after Euroleague’s Top16.
Also, as Sportando reported first Laboral Kutxa signed Italian guard Peppe Poeta who was a free agent since last summer. It remains to be seen if the rumors about the discontent of the Spanish team towards Walter Hodge are true and if the addition of Poeta means that the future of Hodge is in Limbo.
