One day before the Greek national elections Olympiacos… voted and won Panionios 101-69. It was the last game for the Reds before the Euroleague Final Four in Istanbul and that’s why there were three VIP spectators behind the closed doors of the gym.

The two owners of the team, brothers Yiorgos and Panagiotis Aggelopoulos, and the vice president Yiorgos Skindilias watched the game in person. It was not an usual gesture for the Greek teams mentality, a way for the brass to show its support to the players.

Coach Dusan Ivkovic used 14 players in the game, only center Lazaros Papadopoulos was sitting out, and the best performers were Kostas Papanikolaou (17 p., 7 r.) and team captain Vasilis Spanoulis (18 p., 5 as.).
