As Eurohoops reported Olympiacos is interested on getting back Giorgi Shermadini. That’s why we contacted the sports director of Zaragoza, Willy Villar, one of the relatively few directors in Europe who acts like the general managers do in the NBA, having a great input in the players’ transactions of the team and the transfer negotiations.
As Villar said Olympiacos hasn’t yet contacted the team, it will not be easy for Zaragoza to part ways with its starting center, however you can never say never. “We want to keep the player, but if Olympiacos calls us in any time we are ready to discuss it, even it is not going to be easy”, Villar explained.
The Reds have to make their move before the start of Euroleague’s Top16 second round and if they get Shermadini back the advantage of his addition will be that the player is familiar with the team, the coach and the playing system, since he was a member of the Euroleague champions last season, so he doesn’t need a period of adaptation.
