Panathinaikos‘ wish to boost its back court is evident. Besides Jeter, one more very intriguing name emerged as a candidate for the job, Zack Wright of Brose Baskets, however also in his case the possible transfer from Germany to Greece is not easy to get done. The Greens are more than interested to get the player, but the defending Germans champions are not willing to give him, without replacing him properly.
According to Eurohoops sources, that’s why also Brose Baskets is searching the market in order to find a suitable replacement. If they do find one, then Wright will end up in Athens with Brose Baskets getting a – low – buy out from Panathinaikos.
The fact that the Germans are searching for a guard indicates that the club is willing to negotiate with the Greens, but they will not pull the trigger for the deal, unless they have found a new point guard. It’s still a complicated situation and Panathinaikos has also to worry about the Top16 second round deadline in order to make addition to the roster.
