With Laboral Kutxa having just one Top16 win after six games, the ninth spot at Liga Endesa’s standings, a tone of injuries with the latest being the expected absence for three weeks of guard Peppe Poeta, the team decided to take a huge gamble by signing Lamar Odom as it was officially announced.
Odom will have a contract for the next two months which can be extended until the end of the season and also has a renewal option for the next one and he is expected to be used as a center, taking the role of injured Lamond Hamilton. The veteran forward who was a free agent since last summer will be paid according to sources close to the situation 400.000 USD net until the end of the current season and if he stays in Vitoria until the summer of 2015 he will get a one million USD contract next season.
Odom is expected in Spain in the following days and his team will have the right to use him next week in Euroleague, when the second round of Top16 will start.
