Panathinaikos‘ ownership decided after the defeat on Friday night by Laboral Kutxa to fire Greek coach Argiris Pedoulakis, who had led the team last season in the Greek league and Greek cup title and have also won the Greek cup this season. In total he had a 7-3 record against Olympiacos in the Green bench and got the win in every crucial game between the two “eternal rivals”
The text of the press release is the following: “Panathinaikos BC announces the end of the colaboration with the coach of the team, Argyris Pedoulakis. The president of Panathinaikos BC, Dimitris Giannakopoulos, wishes to thank mr Pedoulakis, for taking over the team in a tough period and managed to lead it to three titles. He will always be a distinguished member of Panathinaikos’ family. The team will practice on Monday under Fragkiskos Alvertis’ guidance”.
According to the latest infos, Alvertis will be the interim coach of the team until the end of the season with the help of a more experienced consultant.
