EA7 Milano is on the rise, the team of coach Banchi is the favorite to win the Italian league and also the goal of getting to home court advantage in Euroleague’s play offs is more than close. Still, the team felt that one more guard was needed for Legabasket’s games and the chosen one is 26 years old Greek Giannis Athinaiou (1.94m.).
As the daily newspaper “Athlitika nea” reported first EA7 Milano has a deal with the player’s current team, Aris, Athinaiou will sign a contract until the end of the season and he is expected to travel to Milan the following days. Athinaou has emerged as a key player in Aris’ backcourt having 13.4 ppg, 3.3 asp, 1.2 spg, 41% in two pointers, 34% in threes and 75% in free throws in 22 Greek league games.
