Buy smart with Giorgi!

By Lefteris Moutis/ moutis@eurohoops.net

One old basketball saying goes like this: “Tell me your guards to tell you your chances to succeed”! So, we decided to run to finish lane with as many good (and in shape) guards as we can. Eurohoops team this week would be a really tough opponent to face on the court. But let’s see what happens in fantasy.

It was really hard to decide which three players will be cut. Our first choices were the Partizan’s duo, Bogdanovic and Lauvergne, because lately they aren’t so stable and it’s preferable to bet on players who have stronger motivation. The last one who will leave our team is Sony Weems. He is sacrificed, because there are many players in the perimeter who can make the difference. With these three cuts we have 176,2 credits available.

The duo Sergio-Arroyo (first and fourth most expensive players in their position) is untouchable and we want to pick anything good there is in the 2-3 positions. So, who will be after Rudy and Spanoulis? Malcolm Delaney will be the one because he’s always there when Bayern needs him and the second one is Nemanja Bjelica who is in good shape and can really produce against the front line of Laboral, his former team. With these moves we have three of the four most expensive available forwards but now few credits are left to spend. Our choice is Giorgi Shermadini who is a nice pick three weeks now because he plays a lot, has great percentage in 2ps and gets rebounds. He’s a sleeper and a smart move for everyone who wants to save credits for more expensive players.

Last week our own aralos was the winner in Eurohoops league and overall but alri still leads our league with 3,797 points… Good luck to everyone!

Enjoy fantasy!

Points Guards
Sergio Rodriguez 78,7 credits (+2,5)

Last week he had a career best ranking against Maccabi. He has the best index rating in the Top 16 and he is just a bless to have him in your team.

Carlos Arroyo 60,7 credits (+1,3)
His consistency in big numbers is just great! Galatasaray plays a crucial game vs CSKA and for sure the Puertorican will step up.

Shooting Guards/Small Forwards
Rudy Fernandez 74,8 credits (-2,5)

One week after his MVP-award game vs CSKA, he was bad against Maccabi. So what? Rudy is just a must specially as the season goes to the end.

Malcolm Delaney 72 credits
Bayern hosts Maccabi and the Germans’ game will rely on his hands. He has the second best ranking per game among the active (Langford and Kinsey are out) players in the perimeter after Rudy.

Vassilis Spanoulis 62,8 credits (+1)
Olympiacos plays a “final” against Efes in Istanbul and its captain will probably shine again. Last week he made the difference at Malaga and he ‘ll guide his teammates again.

Nemanja Bjelica 60 credits
Though his team’s instability, the Serbian forward has every week big numbers at least in recent games. Laboral doesn’t play so well defence near the basket, so Bjelica can have a good night.

Power Forwards/Centers
Ante Tomic 73,1 credits (+1,2)

He is the first back to back monthly MVP award in the Euroleague and of course he can make it against Milan giving one more one man show.

Robertas Javtokas 51,3 credits (-0.4)
He wants to finish this outstanding Top 16 in the way he passed it through. The Lithuanian veteran big guy can prevail over Partizan’s centers and have a big score.

Viktor Khryapa 49,5 credits (+0,7)
His ranking per game is double than his points. He does so many things in the court that you feel safe even if he isn’t in a good “shooting” night.

Giorgi Shermadini 43,9 credits
Efes is the worst rebounding team and has really huge problems in the paint. The Georgian center will play more than 15 minutes and can make easily a double digit ranking.
