Time for risks in fantasy!

By Lefteris Moutis/ moutis@eurohoops.net

The Top 16 ends this week and the fantasy challenge is also near its end. If you are far away from the summit, then you have to hunt any player who isn’t popular and can make the difference. Last week Eurohoopsnet team did it right with Giorgi Shermadini and our new bet will be Alex Tyus. Maccabi’s center is brilliant during the last month having unbelievable numbers (among them 22/26 two pointers).

However this week Giorgi Shermadini must leave the team because Printezis returns and against the big guys of Panathinaikos he is not expected to be used more than 10-15 minutes. Also, Javtokas have to leave without even playing, because last week he got injured after the deadline. The last to say goodbye is Nemanja Bjelica cause there’s nobody to trust in Fenerbahce, even against Efes. The newcomers after Tyus are two players who are in good shape and have great motivation: Sony Weems and Richard Hendrix.

As for the prize of Eurohoopsnet fantasy league is on the way to Slovenia again because Alri leads our league with 3.949 points.

Enjoy fantasy!

Points Guards
Sergio Rodriguez 78,5 credits (-0,2)

He’s the most expensive active player in fantasy and he deserves it. In almost every game he gives really big scores and there is no need to think about him.

Carlos Arroyo 59,6 credits (-1,1)
Galatasaray wants to beat desperately Partizan and the Puerto Rican guard must step up. Last week he had his first non-double digit game in the Top 16 but he will improve his numbers.

Shooting Guards/Small Forwards
Rudy Fernandez 72,5 credits (-2,3)

How possible is for Rudy to make one more bad game? He has two in a row and he never had in his Euroleague career with Real three games with a single digit ranking. He will explode at Kaunas.

Malcolm Delaney 74,9 credits (+2,9)
He was brilliant last week against Maccabi but Bayern didn’t make it. This will be his last game in Euroleague for this season and he wants to say “goodbye” with a nice way.

Vassilis Spanoulis 62,5 credits (-0,3)
Olympiacos needs the win vs Panathinaikos and the captain wants to take revenge for his bad games at OAKA. He will lead again.

Sony Weems 56,8 credits
Against Galatasaray he needed the extra period to explode his ranking to 14. Without Teodosic he must step up again in Tel Aviv.

Power Forwards/Centers
Ante Tomic 72,3 credits (-0,8)

Barcelona secured the first place a long time ago. Tomic has no motivation at all. So what? He keeps making big numbers and against Laboral he has easy job.

Richard Hendrix 62,4 credits
Lokomotiv will try to hunt its last chances to qualify and Hendrix is cornerstone player of his team. Lately he is making really good games and he can overcome Bayern’s big guys.

Viktor Khryapa 50,5 credits (+1)
His best game so far in his Euroleague career according to his ranking was the previous one against Maccabi. The Israelis suit him and the Russian forward can do damage again.

Alex Tyus 39,6 credits
In the last three games he has 15,3 points, 10,3 rebounds and 23,3 ranking and he is affordable to any fantasy player. Blatt trusts him more and though he has a tough task ahead of him, he can make it against CSKA.
