As Maccabi Tel Aviv asked, the decision by the Israeli basketball assosiation about Sofoklis Shortsanitis’ punishement for the incident after the game against Hapoel Tel Aviv, will be taken after the Euroleague play offs series of his team. On Wednesday it was officially announced that the hearing about Sofo will be held on the 24th of April.
Until the hearing, the Greek center will not have the right to participate in any domestic league game, which practically means that he will miss one game, the big clash against Hapoel Jerusalem. This is one of the two games left in the regular season of the Israeli league for Maccabi, with the last one, against Maccabi Haifa, being scheduled for the 28th of April. Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Jerusalem are tied at the top spot of the league standings with a 20-6 record.
