Sofoklis Shortsanitis’ appeal to his initial punishment by the Israeli league for the incident against Hapoel Tel Aviv’s fans resulted in making his penalty a little bit lighter. As it was announced, Sofo will have to sit out for six games and his fine is now 50.000 shekels, which translates to 10.500 euros.

Practically that means Sofo has to miss two more games and he is expected to return to action in the semifinals, as Maccabi is now tied in the quarterfinals with Galil Gilboa (1-1) and need two more wins in order to advance.
