Nikola Vujcic has a lot of things to be proud in his career. However, if we have to pick one, something unique, the choice is more than easy.
The years goes by, but he remains the only player who have registered a triple double in Euroleague. During the last season a number of players have almost reached this goal, but no one made it and the Croatian center with the incredible skills and his basketball instinct has this honor alone.
Eurohoops met Vujcic in Maccabi‘s practice and asked him who will be the next player who could register the illusive triple double, a goal that remains unreached until now.
“I will tell you! It’s an easy answer. Dario Saric! He has amazing skill and if he plays in Euroleague from next season, he is more than capable to achieve it and he can do it real soon. He is a multidimensional talent, he can do anything on the floor. If you watch him now, you can’t call him a talent. He is already a complete player”, said Vujcic who practiced with him for almost four months last year, when he was the player-coach of KK Split and Saric was a member of the team.
“We had everyday contact, we were opponents in practice and I understood than besides his physical and sports gifts, he is a really hard, mature guy. One day he dislocated his finger, he put it back in place all alone and continues to play. I believe he will do great things and for sure he is the biggest talent Croatia produced during the last decade”.
