Despite the “eternal rivalry” and the widespread fights in Istanbul; many fans of Panathinaikos applauded Olympiacos’ players inside “Sinan Erdem” Arena after the final recognizing the greatness of their success. This move was appreciated by the Reds who listened once again the congratulations of Zeljko Obradovic and Dimitris Diamantidis one day before the start of the Greek league finals.
“Zoc” said that “many fans of Panathinaikos told me where happy with Olympiacos’ victory and I believe that this should be our target in the future”. Τhat’s in contrast with what “3D” said who was pessimistic mentioning that “it’s difficult to happen something like this in Greece. Here we can’t have fans of both teams in the same court and expect from them to applaud the winner”.
The discussion about the violence in greek basketball was the main issue of the common press conference which held by OPAP, the state’s betting company that is the main sponsor of both teams and the championship. Dusan Ivkovic targeted the teams as responsible for the violence, Zeljko Obradovic has raised the absence of strong rules to punish the perpetrators and the chairman of ESAKE, Vassilis Economidis accused the state.
And all together hope to enjoy basketball and not fights in seats of SEF and OAKA…
