The destructive floods that hit the Balkans, mainly in Bosnia/Herzegovina and Serbia, have mobilized European basketball. As it was announced humanitarian cash donations totaling €30,000 will be made directly by Euroleague basketball and the relief effort will be coordinated locally by clubs in the region, including Partizan NIS Belgrade, Crvena Zvezda Telekom Belgrade and Spars Sarajevo.

Also Russian club CSKA Moscow have been mobilized in order to help, Slovenian clubs Krka and Union Olimpija are doing the same and Euroleague is activating all its communications channels – its websites, social media and direct-mail databases – in order to ask the generous basketball fans of the continent to help their fellow fans with donations to the Red Cross in affected countries.
