Despite being just 20 years old, Ioannis Papapetrou is a rare case in this draft. After leaving Texas and the NCAA in order to became a professional in Euroleague powerhouse Olympiacos, Papapetrou is automatically eligible in this year’s NBA draft and he will not have an other chance to get picked.
That’s why he travelled to Eurocamp at Treviso, where he will be on the court only the first day and then have meeting with NBA teams officials which are interested in picking him, probably somewhere at the end of the second round.
Papapetrou can’t be considered anything else than investment for the future, since he has a five years contract with Olympiacos that includes an NBA buy out after the third season, the summer of 2016.
