Berlin tied the BEKO BBL finals series (1-1) last Thursday, but Munich has the home advantage and is still the favorite for this title. However in their second visit this season in Berlin, Bayern was defeated easily having a lot of problems in defense and in controlling the tempo of the game.
After Game 2 Lucca Staiger and Heiko Schaffartzik spoke at Eurohoops about what Bayern has to do better on Sunday. As Staiger said: “The main reason we lost was our bad defense and this is something we must change if we want to win Sunday in Munich. We must continue doing well what we do and staying with our plan.”
Schaffartzik added: “No matter what has happened before, what is important is that the series is tied at 1-1 and we still have the home advantage. In our house we have to do some things better like focusing on our plan, defending better, getting the rebounds and making fewer mistakes. I believe will be ready and better”.
Seven players of Bayern have played in the past for Alba, however that according to Scaffartzik doesn’t mean much: “I think it doesn’t matter. Alba talks more about those players and wants more emotions in this series. In our locker room we don’t talk about this. We only look at how we can be better. We have to play better defense and make less mistakes to get the result we want. We are the favorites, but that doesn’t mean extra pressure. We can’t think and play according to what people believe. We should be focused on the game. The only we want right now is the win in our home”.
