James Gist didn’t have an opt out clause in his contract and as the Greens finally decided they will not release him. That was the original plan with the team engaging in negotiations for his buy out. However things changed. Panathinaikos wanted to open up a spot and also add Aleksandar Vezenkov of Aris in its roster.
The young player and his team haven’t decided yet if they want to accept the offer of the Greens, who are not willing to continue negotiating his transfer. On the contrary, they have decided to keep Gist who at this point is the only non Greek player in the team’s roster.
