The Reds are not losing any time and one day after the signing of Oliver Lafayette, they announced the addition of former Galatasaray player Pops Mensah Bonsu. The experienced forward signed a two years deal with the former Euroleague champions. After his good season with Galatasaray, Bonsu’s contract is worth according to sources close to the situation 1,3 m. dollars for two seasons and an team opt out clause is included for next summer with a small buy out compensation to the player.
In the past Mensah Bonsu was offered in two more occasions to the Greeks, but because of his medical history, there was no deal. It has to be noted that the player has been one of the protagonists in this season’s brawl at the Reds home court, however no side has any hard feelings left from this incident.
Also Panathinaikos announced the signing of 16 years old guard Michalis Lountzis, captain of the Greek U16 national team.
