As it was expected Sofoklis Shortsanitis and Romain Sato will play next season for Maccabi Tel Aviv and Valencia respectively, while coach Ainar Bagatskis after his first Euroleague appearance with Budivelnyk, signed with Niznhy Novgorod.
As Maccabi Tel Aviv announced, the extention option in Sofo’s original contract was used by the team for the upcoming season and there’s also a simular option for next summer and the 2015-16 season. So despite the rumors about Galatasaray‘s interest for the player, the Greek center will remain in Israel.
Sato was a key member in Valencia‘s Eurocup run and despite being 33 years old he was re-signed for two more seasons, a contract which may be his last in the top lebel. As for Bagatskis, who is also the coach of the Latvian national team, he signed a one year deal.
