Hackett stays at Milan, discontent in the NT

The last chapter of the Daniel Hackett saga was written on Monday night. The player accepted the proposal of EA7 Milano for a reduced salary, apologized to club’s president Livio Proli and as “Gazzetta Dello Sport” reports, he will remain with the team until the summer of 2016.

It will be interesting to see how the team will adapt in this situation, as Hackett will be available for Euroleague games, but not in the Italian cup and Legabasket for the first 26 weeks of action. The addition of one more guard under these conditions can’t be excluded.

Meanwhile the players of the Italian national team via a press released expressed their discontent for Hackett’s behavior and his decision to leave the national team camp. As they wrote: “There’s an unwritten code of conduct in the team and Hackett broke it”. Still there’s an open door for the future because they “wish to Daniel to learn from his mistakes”.
