He may have said to Vecernji.hr that he doesn’t have a contract with Panionios, but reality is different. Zach Wright, as many Greek newspapers and websites have reported, has signed a contract with team from Nea Smyrni, in which there is only (as Εurohoops.net reported earlier in the week) a «Euroleague out» clause.
The American guard, though, has two reasons to deny the agreement. First of all typically, he cannot say that he already has a contract for next season. Secondly and more importantly, he has a new agent, who would like to negotiate a better deal for him. From the moment he signed with Panionios, things have changed for him. His value has increased dramatically, since he carried his excellent play from Rethymno to Croatian league with Cibona and also he has taken Bosnian passport. Also his agent has changed and his new one Scott Nichols would like to negotiate a better deal, than the one he got from Panionios.
At this moment one thing is certain: Panionios and Wright will talk again, to determine the base of their cooperation.
