In a game that can be considered a preview of an interesting rivarly, Hapoel Jerusalem prevailed 81-78 over Euroleague champions Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Winner league cup final and got the first trophy of the year against the traditional powerhouse of Israel.
In a game decided in the last period, Hapoel had a 77-68 lead and despite the come back of Maccabi which managed to make it a two points game (79-77), Hapoel didn’t lose control and got the win. Υotam Halperin led a balanced offense with 13 points, while Guy Pnini couldn’t save Maccabi despite his 20 points.
