Zalgiris Kaunas had one more impressive showing in front of its fans by beating easily (65-49) Lokomotiv Kuban and winning the Acropolis tournament. The Russians were in a really bad night and after the first quarter, the hosts dominated the game. Lokomotiv started the game with a 21-10 lead after the first 10 minutes, but the partial score in the last three quarters was 55-28.
Zalgiris played great in defense, got into the paint and prevailed. The Lithuanians got even a 16 points lead (60-44) after a 11-3 run at the start of the fourth quarter and Lokomotiv couldn’t get back into the game.
Galatasaray got an impressing 89-71 win over Panathinaikos. The Greens have many injuries and six players missing, however the Turkish team had a 31 points lead (70-39) after 25 minutes of play and didn’t face any problem against the Greek champs.
Martynas Pocius and Nolan Smith scored 17 points each and also dished four assists each. Esteban Batista once more was the best player of the Greens with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
