Zoran and Thomas on their way out

Two point guards which can be starters almost in every Euroleague team may change jerseys just before the start of the season. Zoran Planinic is on his way out from Anadolu Efes and the same applies to Thomas Heurtel and Laboral Kutxa, but for a very different reason.

Planinic was not part of Ivkovic’s plans since the start of the summer. He is currently practicing with the second team of Anadolu Efes, which participates in the second Turkish division and he has a contract for next year. Efes, which has eight non Turkish players under contract, is trying to find a team which will take him, probably on loan, and also pay him, at least part of his contract.

Οn the other hand, Thomas Heurtel has a contract with Laboral Kutxa until the summer of 2015 and the team asked him to negotiate an extension. According to Spanish sources, Heurtel, one of the best young guards in Europe, denied the talks in order to became a free agent in the summer. That’s why Laboral Kutxa decided to sell him, in order to have a profit from him and pay some of the clubs’ debts.

Spanish journalist Chema De Lucas reported via twitter that Anadolu Efes and Laboral Kutxa are negotiating the possible transfer of Heurtel. However, according to our scources Efes is not willing to enter those kind of talks, at least not with Planinic still in the team. Time will tell how things will end up…
