After three Euroleague trophies, eight Greek championships and seven Greek cups with Panathinaikos, the fourth leading scorer in the Euroleague’s history, Mike Batiste, retired and was hired by the Clevaland Cavaliers to be a member of their coaching stuff.
The 36-year old American spoke on “TA NEA” newspaper and said about his new experience and his interaction with King James: “I know very well since long time Mike Miller, Anderson Varejao and Shawn Marion. LeBron James is too humble. Our practice was at 10.00 in the morning and he was in the court at 08.00. He has both feet on the ground”. Batiste is expected to be part of the Canton Charge coaching stuff, which is the NBADL affiliated team of the Cavs.
Batiste also spoke about his experience with Panathinaikos last season: “I would like to have the chance to play in the playoffs and after the last game against Olympiacos to pay tribute to the fans. When I came back to Panthinaikos, the team wasn’t the same and you could see that in every aspect”.
