Joan Plaza will stay on the bench of Unicaja Malaga until the summer of 2016 after signing an extension to his current contract as the club announced. Plaza, a former coach of Real Madrid and Zalgiris Kaunas among others, is considered one of the most talented Spanish coaches of the younger generation.
Last season in Unicaja, he created a more than solid team and at 51 years old he seems ready to enter the most important phase of his career. In the past his name was mentioned also as a possible candidate for the bench of the Greek and also the Spanish national team. The financial details of the deals are not announced.
