Sfairopoulos signed with Olympiacos

After one month of search, Olympiacos decided to sign with a two seasons deal a familiar face. Giannis Sfairopoulos is the new head coach of the team as it was announced by the club. The 47 years old Greek is getting his big chance to shine.

Sfairopoulos got noticed for the first time in 1997 when he became part of PAOK’s coaching stuff and he was also an assistant coach in Olympiacos under Jonas Kazlauskas and Pini Gerson. He remained an assistant of coach Kazlauskas in the Greek national team and also in CSKA Moscow. As a head coach, he have worked in PAOK, Panionios and Kolossos.

Ηe returns to Olympiacos after six years and he is “safe” and not expensive choice by the management which was trying for almost a month to get a new head coach after parting ways with Giorgos Bartzokas. Interim coach Milan Tomic will remain with the team and one more new assistant coach is expected to be added by Sfairopoulos.
