Eurohoops.net talked with the Turkish coach about his “divorce” with Galatasaray and the possible interest of teams like Panathinaikos and Fenerbahce about him, but he didn’t want to get into details

Professional partnerships are like personal relationships. You should be a gentleman not only during but mostly after the end of the relationship. Oktay Mahmud left Galatasaray after two successful years adventurously, but he didn’t want to comment on anything.

In a communication with Eurohoops.net, the Turkish coach refused to comment anything about what happened between him and Galatasaray and said only: “I have nothing to say about Galatasaray. You must be gentleman also after the divorce”.

Mahmuti had two very good seasons with Galatasaray (Turkish league finalist in 2011 and missed Euroleague’s quarterfinals in the last game of Top16 this year), but his contract was terminated.

The… strange thing about this case is that Galatasaray announced on 14 of May the renewal of Mahmuti’s contract for 2+2 years through the twitter account of the team. Although a month later, the two sides signed the termination of their cooperation.

Mahmuti’s name is of course, too high on the list of several European teams and according to the rumors he’s connected mostly with Panathinaikos and Fenerbahce. But as he said himself: “Nobody has called me. I’ve heard the rumors, but I was too busy with the termination of my contract”.
