As it turned out the financial issues of Galatasaray are still unsolved and one local talent is leaving the team, because of this situation. Furkan Aldemir has decided to terminate his contract with the team, since he hasn’t been paid for the last five months. It’s safe to assume that Aldemir is not the only player who hasn’t been paid, despite the announcement for the opposite by the management of the team.
Aldemir’s case, however, is even more interesting, since he is expected to cross the Atlantic and continue his career in the NBA with the Sixers who own his NBA rights. Caglar Torun was the first to report the news of Aldemir’s decision and according to Adrian Wojnarowski his deal is a 2+2 years contract.
However, Galatasaray tried to change the mind of the player. According to NTV sport the management and also the coach Ergin Ataman have offered a new contract to Aldemir in order to stay in Istanbul. Still the player himself announced via facebook that he is leaving the team and coach Ataman admitted that every player can leave the team at this point in any time with the exception of Carlos Arroyo.
