Khryapa out, Kirilenko in the background

As CSKA Moscow announced, team captain Viktor Khryapa had surgery on his left ankle in Israel and it’s still uknown when he will be back to action. Meanwhile, Moscow is the only place for a European return of Andrei Kirilenko, if he leaves the NBA.

Khryapa’s ankle will be immobilized for three weeks, the player was hurt during preseason and until now he was absent from every official game of his team. So nobody can predict at this point when he will be back for action and what his condition will be. And his close friend Kirilenko could be the solution for CSKA, provided of course that he decides to return to Europe in order to win the Euroleague, the only major European title that he hasn’t won during his great career.

Of course in order for this to happen, the trade between the Nets and the Sixers must first be completed. After that Kirilenko is expected to be waived and according to many reports Cleveland and the Clippers may be possible destinations for him. However for obvious reasons, the door to CSKA Moscow is also open.
