The Lithuanian star denied the proposal of Panathinaikos to retire in order to be a part of the coaching stuff of the team, or even the head coach and the Green bench remains empty after the break up with Obradovic

Sarunas Jasikevicius is 36 years old but he still wants to be a player. He denied Panathinaikos‘ proposal to became an assistant, or even the head coach of the team next season, trying to fill the shoes of Zeljko Obradovic.

Maybe that’s one of the reasons of him getting cold feet, but someone could argue that Saras, who is preparing with the Lithuanian national team for the Pre-Olympic tournament still has some gas in his tank. He talk by phone with Panathinaikos brass and announced them his decision, pointing out also that he would like to remain in the team as a player for one more season.

So, the seat at Panathinaikos’ bench is still open and the clock is ticking. Almost every, available or unavailable, coach in Europe have been offered to the Greens and the team has to decide who will have the burden to lead them in the post-Zoc age.
