A few hours after the big win over Galatasaray, Tofas agreed terms with Ilias Zouros who will be the new head coach of the team. The Greek coach will replace Erhan Toker and he will coach again in Turkey after 2,5 years.
The board of Tofas examined a list of top class coaches like Marco Crespi and Andrea Mazzon. But the chosen is Ilias Zouros who watched tonight the game Galatasaray-Tofas in Istanbul.
Zouros has worked in Turkey before, as he coached Efes in 2012. Then he signed with Zalgiris but left after some months. Meanwhile he was the coach of the Greek national team in the Eurobasket 2011 and the pre-Olympic tournament in 2012. One month ago he was candidate for Tramzonspor.
UPDATE: On Monday the transfer became official.
