Pops-AEK’s deal is in the air

Pops Mensah-Bonsu signed a contract with Olympiacos during last summer but was cut due to his injury problems. Still the British center seemed ready to play in the Greek League after his agreement with AEK. But the deal may end up being canceled because there is a financial gap between the team and the player.

As aek365.gr wrote, Mensah-Bonsu agreed to continue his career with AEK until the end of the season. The transfer was about to be announced and the player would try to play against Rethymno this Sunday. But a little before his arrival in Athens, everything is up in the air.

Pops signed with Olympiacos six months ago but he was cut after failing the medical tests. One month ago he agreed with Hapoel Jerusalem and one day before Christmas he was ready to wear AEK’s shirt.

AEK wοuld be his 18th team during the last eight years. Only twice he spent a whole season in a team (Galatasaray 2013-14 and Benetton 2007-08).
