It was a busy day in Tel Aviv for Maccabi. The team got the win over Hapoel Afula (97-60) for the eightfinals of the Israeli cup and at midnight announced that forward Joe Alexander is the new member of the team. Alexander was a target of Maccabi since the break out of the talks with Real Madrid’s Marcus Slaughter and it remains to be seen what he can offer in the highest level of European competition. Alexander signed until the end of the season with a renewal option for the next season.
Also Maccabi confirmed that Aleks Maric‘s contract will not be renewed and the Australian center is already on his way to Istanbul, where he is expected to join Galatasaray.
