The new center of Cleveland is a very familiar face to coach David Blatt. As it was announced officially Timofey Mozgov left Denver for the Cavs after being traded for two protected first-round picks.
Despite his recent woes in the NBA, Blatt has enjoyed great success as the coach of the Russian national team, leading the team to Eurobasket gold in 2007 over heavily favorited Spain. Since 2009, Mozgov is one of the pillars of his country’s national team in which Blatt was the coach until 2012. It remain to be seen if their collaboration can be succesful also in the NBA.
