Despite being just 12th in the Legabasket standings, Varese turned some heads on Wednesday by announcing the signing of former NBA guard Eric Maynor until the end of the season. It’s an impressive move, as the 27 years old guard will play in Europe for the first time.
Best known for his years in Oklahoma City, Maynor was a free agent after being cut by the Sixers last March. The number 20 of the 2009 NBA draft is probably the biggest import in the Italian league and it remains to be seen if he can resurrect his career in Europe, which is on a downfall after his 2012 ACL injury.
