The younger brother has left and the older will follow him, even if he doesn’t want to. Nick Calathes signed on Friday a two years contract at Lokomotiv Kuban with a total compensation close to three million dollars, while Panathinaikos on the 1st of July will probably exercise its right and will release Pat Calathes.
However, he would love to stay in the Green roster and that can be done, even if he is released. But the team would like to re-sign him for less money, than the 250.000 dollars that are his salary in the second season of his current contract. As for Nick, he will forget for two more season his NBA dream, because of the great offer he had from the Russians.
Panathinaikos on the other hand is ready to announce the signing of Mike Bramos, who will probably be the first summer addition in their roster.
