The mediocre season of Valencia and the Eurocup defeat by Ploiesti brought changes on the bench of Valencia. This was the end of the road for coach Velimir Perasovic who had a contract until the end of the season.
His former assistant Carles Duran is the new interim coach and the search for a new head coach has already started. Perasovic led the team last year to the Eurocup title, but so far Valencia underachieved both in continental competition, after failing to qualify to Euroleague’s Top16, and also in Liga Endesa.
Former Olympiacos coach Giorgos Bartzokas is expected to be among the targets of the Spanish team.
