Erazem Lorbek decided to stay in Europe for a very high price. The Slovenian forward was also on San Antonio Spurs‘ radar, who have his NBA rights, but he preferred a record breaking contract with FC Barcelona for three more years.

According to respectable Spanish newspaper “El Mundo Deportivo” Lorbek will be compensated with three million euros per season and he will be the highest paid basketball player ever in Spanish league. Yes, he will get more money than his teammate and Barcelona icon Juan Carlos Navarro and also more money than former NBAer Rudy Fernandez who will play next season for arch-rival Real Madrid.

The surprise deal of the day came from CSKA Moscow who announced the signing of sharp shooter Drew Nicholas. As Eurohoops.net reported Nicholas had advanced negotiations in order to return to Panathinaikos in Greece. However CSKA has the luxury to pay him more money and Panathinaikos continues to loose marquee players, like Mike Batiste who officially signed his contract with Fenerbahce/ Ulker.

On the other hand, the Greens announced the signing of 15 years old prodigy Vasilis Charalabopoulos from Aigaleo, a part of their new plan for the future.
