Caja Laboral Vitoria lost two very important players from last season’s roster. Mirza Teletovic, the star of the team, will continue his career in Brooklyn as a player of the Nets and Pablo Prigioni will be a 35 years old rookie for the New York Knicks. However, Prigioni didn’t forget to express his gratitude to the team and its fans, while his fellow Argentinian, Andres Nocioni will remain in Spain for one more season.
Nocioni played for Caja Laboral, then known as Tau Ceramica from 2001 until 2004, when he started his NBA career. He returned last March to the team and it was like he hadn’t left at all. Still a fan favorite and an elite forward, he will return next season to Euroleague as it was officially announced.
Also an announcement from Piraeus, Greece, came through Bilbao. The Spanish club signed American forward Lamont Hamilton and released Greek center Dimitris Mavroeidis who had already agreed to terms with Euroleague champions Olympiacos.
Finally, there are good news from Slovenia. Union Olimpija paid its old debts (450.000€) which caused FIBA BAT sanctions, can now sign new players and will compete normally to next season’s Euroleague.
