Macvan to Galata, Saric to Bilbao

Milan Macvan is faced with the challenge to prove that he can be effective outside Serbia, after his transfer to Galatasaray for the next two years, as it was officially announced. The Serbian power forward /center after his best years as Hemofarm player, went to Maccabi Tel Abib, but never found a role there.

Coach David Blatt asked Macvan to play on loan with Partizan during last season, in which he had a good year (15.8 ppg and 8.2 rpg in Euroleague). The Israelis, however, didn’t change their view on Macvan and gladly accepted the offer from Galatasaray and received 250,000 euros to release him.

At the same time, Bilbao, one of the biggest favorites for next season’s Eurocup, is ready to finalize its roster. They acquired 18 year old Croatian talented Dario Saric, who opens his wings by making his dream true, as he explained to Eurohoops a couple of months ago. The Basques signed also Lamont Hamilton from Paris-Levallois and in the following days have to decide if they will send Kostas Vasileiadis also to Galatasaray.
