During the Olympics Pops Mensah Bonsu will officially become a member of Maccabi. The center οf the British national team agreed with the Israelis to sent his contract signed to Tel Aviv and he is expected to be announced by the team even in the following hours. Unics Kazan remained actively involved until the last minute in Bonsu’s case, but Maccabi’s offer and the challenge to play in one of the top Euroleague teams was the main factor for his final desicion.
At London, Mensah Bonsu met Maccabi’s coach David Blatt, who is also the coach of the Russian national team. According to sources from Israel the deal was sealed on Wednesday.
