He needed time to decide what he will do, but at last Stratos Perperoglou said “yes” to Olympiacos’ offer, with the Reds doing whatever they needed to let him know, they count on him.
First, he confined to olympiacosbc.gr that “for sure it was a tough decision, but the discussions I had with Vasilis Spanoulis and with coach Bartzokas, things got easier. Everything they told me, lead me to the best choice for me. I am happy for the happy end and for sure I needed this change. I had a tough year, but I have overcome my problem and I have a great desire to work”.
He added “I talked with many people on how Olympiacos functions and I heard only the best. For sure Olympiacos had a great year and everything comes to the conclusion they work in the right way. As many players say, it’s a lot easier to get to the top, but it’s harder to stay there. Nobody expected from Olympiacos to do everything they did last season and that was a big plus. This year things will be different. Everybody will want to beat us, next season. It’s very important they kept the core of the team, exactly the same”.
About the national team, he said “it wasn’t good we disqualified from the Olympics, but for Olympiacos the good thing is we are going to have all the players, from the beginning of the preparation. Of course I want to be back at the National Team, but for now I want to focus on what I have to do for Olympiacos, to work hard, to be better and to help my team”.
All the players who went from Olympiacos to Panathinaikos and vice versa.
