Olympiacos could have gotten the home court advantage in the play offs with a home win against Fenerbahce/ Ulker. Like it also happened last season, Vasilis Spanoulis was injured in a crucial phase of the season and everything changed for the Reds which got the third place in their Group.
At this point the big question is if Spanoulis will be ready to go in the play offs. The captain of Olympiacos is practicing individually in order to get over his injury which was aggravated after his wrong decision to play against Fenerbahce.
His condition is getting better and on Saturday he will try to practice with the team in order to get back on the court. After missing almost a month of action, it’s not easy for him to be at 100% after 2 or 3 full practices. However, he seems to be winning the race against time and he is expected to play next week. The reason for that is simple. He will not allow himself to miss such important games.
He last played injured on the 13th of March against Fenerbahce and his probable return is expected on the 15th of April. One month later, without any official game played and after less than a week of full practices. The final decision will be taken in the next days and the big question remains in what condition he will appear in the games which will decide the Final Four qualification.
