It was long rumored that Barcelona wanted to get rid of Chuck Eidson and his two million US dollars salary per season. That’s why the name of the American forward was heard in many occasions, even as a candidate for CSKA Moscow.
Finally, as it was officially announced, Eidson will continue his career at Unics Kazan and everybody seems to be happy. The player will be once again a leader in his new team, Kazan found one more quality piece and Barcelona will not pay his contract, at least not all of it. As it was confirmed by Spanish sources to Eurohoops.net, Barcelona will pay a part of Eidson’s salary next season. Unics didn’t want to give him two million US dollars, but that was the number in his contract with Barcelona. So, the Catalans will chip in the difference in order for him to have his two millions.
Also, Siena announced the signing of Serbian guard Aleksandar Rasic who finished last season at Lietuvos Ritas. Rasic was a prime candidate last spring for a place at Olympiacos’ roster, but instead of him, Acie Law was added to the team.
Last, but not least, agent Larry Fox confirmed via hoopshype a report by Greek newspaper “Sportday” that said Panathinaikos is very interested in his client Anthony Tolliver: “Panathinaikos has definitely expressed strong interest and their coaching staff loves Anthony. While we won’t rule out Greece, the interest level from the NBA remains strong and we are continuing to pursue those options.”
