Olympiacos got the break against Barcelona and now the series is tied at 1-1. What this means for the Final Four qualification according to Euroleague playoffs history?
With two games coming up in Olympiacos’ home court, it’s obvious that the Reds have gained the advantage. Since the 2008-09 season, when Euroleague introduces the best of five playoffs series, in total 24 series have been played.
From those, 12 started with a 1-1 tie and in six cases, the team which got the break also got the qualification to the play offs.
On the other six occasions, there was also a second break, or even more, as the team which initially had the home court advantage qualified in four cases with a total of 3-2 wins and in two cases with 3-1 wins. So nothing is set in stone yet….
