Serbia and Turkey had to wait until the last moment, but both avoided the disaster. After beating Israel (83-67) and Czech Republic (81-58) with ease, they got their ticket for next year’s Eurobasket in Slovenia, together with the two losing teams, Montenegro, Germany, Sweden, Croatia, Ukraine, Bosnia, Georgia, Latvia, Finland, Poland, Belgium and Italy. Nenad Krstic (photo) had 14 points for Serbia against Israel and Milenko Tepic was the top scorer of his team with 16.
The first two teams of each group and the four best third placed teams qualified for Eurobasket 2013, together with the host country Slovenia, France, FYROM, Great Britain, Greece, Lithuania, Russia and Spain.
